Jeff and I recently purchased our first home. In the initial stages, we had no idea what to expect. We read up on "what to expect when you’re buying a home” books, but their helpfulness was limited.
We met Brett at an open house. He was the listing agent. I completely expected a sales pitch for his property, but instead he was very patient and even showed us a neighboring property listed by another agent on the spot. He explained the general idea of a realtor, but he wasn't pushing himself on us.
After such a pleasant first meeting with Brett, Jeff and I asked him to show up properties. He did without hesitation. Making us aware of new listings and calling us immediately if he felt a property met our desires and price range.
What I found most refreshing about Brett was his willingness to help. He never pushed us to buy and encouraged us we would find the right house. If he didn't know the answer to a question, he would admit he did not know and find it the answer; usually within a day.
Needless to say, if and when Jeff and I sell our current home, Brett will be our realtor. If anyone asks if we know a good realtor, I refer them to Brett. It is refreshing to find someone who doesn't fit the traditional realtor stereotype.

I was very anxious about buying my first property – especially an investment property. Brett was very patient as he showed me at least 20 properties until I felt comfortable making an offer. He was also very knowledgeable about not only the appropriate values of property in the area I was looking, but also tips on managing the property, tenants, repairs, taxes, financing, etc. I felt Brett did his homework and worked very hard on my behalf to make sure I was happy with my purchase – which I definitely am 2 years later!
